Highest score in a match: Pre Leinster 137* against Hinton Charterhouse Sunday 2nds or similar, Leinster - a good few Senior 2 50's, 1sts 38
Best Bowling Figures: Funnily enough, another part of my game that can be split between Leinster and everywhere else. Career best of 6-30 against University of Aberystwyth (rabbits and headlights spring to mind- beautifully flighted off spin and decent standard, so stop laughing). However still searching for my first LCC wicket after 12 years of trying. Opened the bowling for the 2nds once (in fairness I was captain) To this day I maintain that I had Brian Gilmore of Malahide caught in the gully. As it was they were 40-0 off 4 overs.
Best cricketing memory: The Senior double of 1998 was hard to match, although probably didn't appreciate at the time. Have to say that last season was one of the most enjoyable for a long time, the Pembroke and Railway victories probably the most enjoyable
Worst cricketing memory: Seem to remember being pretty downcast after the 2nds were demolished by Balbriggan in the late 1990's, 46 allout. "Too good" was my comment.
Funniest Cricketing Moment: The pressure! Can't really think of one outstanding moment to be honest. It tends to be the controversial moments that stick out. I suppose the final denouement of the "Great Exodus" in 2000 was pretty funny. After most players refusing not to play during the week, managing to have 22 players turning up in the car park in Railway. Not particularly hilarious at the time, but worth a chuckle now
Favourite Innings: Either a battling 19* to beat Clontarf in a Lewis Traub match many years a go, ably supported by John Craven, or a 60 odd against YM 2nds on a "sporting" Claremont Rd deck. Satch and I came in at 30-5 or similar, and put on 100 to win it
Favourite International Cricketer: Any player who has graced the green sward of Nevil Road. Jack Russell primarily, but Sid Lawrence, Gilbert Jessop, Wally Hammond and Mark Alleyne all jostle for affection
Best Teas in Ireland: Have to say that after years in the doldrums, Pembroke last year was pretty fantastic.
Favourite Ground: Excepting Rathmines, The Ridings (Chipping Sodbury) and Vicarage Fields (Aberystwyth - where apparently Ed Joyce made his international debut against Wales under something or other), you can't go far wrong with Milverton, and have a bit of a soft spot for Halverstown as well
"The Inzamam Award for Temper Tantrums" goes to: Split between Gillie, who seems to be getting a bit grouchy with age, or Paul Rodgers after his outburst after the Pakistan game.
Least favourite English cricketer(s): ????
Hopes for my career: Hopefully keep on playing for the 1sts for as long as possible!!, Before slowly slipping down the teams hopefully playing with my children on the way down
A short summary of me as a player: Dashing keeper, fantastic concentration who was cruelly pigeonholed as someone who couldn't bat much??*
