Mick Scully

Highest score in a match: 106 honestly, have the book to prove it (and it wasn’t against anyone with any predispositions)
Best Bowling Figures: 5-11
Best cricketing memory: Captaining the 3rds to League and 20/20 glory in 2004!
Worst cricketing memory:
Not getting the Leinster Cricket Club Captain of the Year award that year!!!! Seriously though chasing nearly 400 in a match v Civil Service we didn’t win 1 guy was dropped  11 times getting 190 and Owen Butler got 8-24. That day was a really bad day & I think I put them in!
Funniest Cricketing Moment: Please read Jonesy’s account of the Ace in Cork being hit on the forehead at gully (why was he at gully?). Followed by the wicket keeping of Digital (no hands)Graham Whelan v The Hills some years back. After the umpteenth fumble of a missed catch or a dot ball the ball goes towards 3rd man, The ‘Teflon Don’ turns, chucks the gloves down on the ground and repeatedly sounds off every expletive known to man  whilst the ball is still live in play! The ball gets thrown in at the stumps towards Graham he doesn’t realise he’s still the wicketkeeper and nearly gets hit by the ball and the ball continues on it’s journey with no one backing up as they are still laughing and the ball goes to the boundary.
Favourite Innings:
Any time I watch Jonesy!
Dave Moore’s knock final game of season 2004 chasing 132 to win the league  we were 40-7 he got 67 not out batting at 9 we put on 80 odd together I contributed 7, CJ & Lapps helped Dave see it home.  Other than that, scoring 50 last game of the season in Tarf, that season I had a bet with Felicity (Fiancée) that if I didn’t score a 50 in a season and up to then I hadn’t, I would have to take her for an all expenses stay over in Dromoland Castle. I got the 50, that’s pressure.
Favourite International Cricketer: Steve Waugh in the past & currently Trent Johnston (he owes me a baseball mitt!)
Best Teas in Ireland: Tarf or the Hills
Favourite Ground: Rathmines
"The Inzamam Award for Temper Tantrums" goes to: I suppose in my early younger days I was a winner, Justin Cramp certainly could have become a winner, but currently I would have Dave Lappin and Luke Ginnell.
Least favourite English cricketer(s): Douglas Jardine
Hopes for my career: (Hope Felicity lets me play on)
A short summary of me as a player:
Dogged, obstinate, overly competitive ‘son of a bitch’ in the inimitable words of that great Aussie -  Wailesy he had plenty C U Next Tuesday or C**T!)   But as my alter ego Captain Cricket I’m a perfect gent !
