Mens 3rd XI 2012

Whilst the headlines will be grabbed by the 1sts and 2nds, the 3rds currently have an opportunity to write a success story for themselves. For several years, promotion for the 3rds was blocked by the 2nds, but as it stands, the 3rds could now achieve two successive promotions.

Alan Godfrey takes over the reins, with Paul Delany moving upstairs to become Chair of Selectors. Godfrey has the 9th highest average of those 3rd team players to have scored 250 runs (295 at 26.82 - the top 8 are Pete Johnston, Dave Staunton, Guy Satchwell, Asif Hussein, Niall McDonnell, Jason Jones, Clive Colleran, Paul Delany and Imtiaz Nazir), and has the potential to dominate. Only time will tell!
