Leinster Senior stats for 2007 (courtesy of Gerry Byrne) The guardian of the LCU stats, Gerry Byrne of Pembroke, efficiently had all the stats up to date months ago, however I'm only now getting round to putting them up. It's difficult to know where to begin
as it was a pretty successful year. However, the awards already recieved by Anton Scholtz and Mark Jones have been well documented elsewhere, so let us concentrate on a few other milestones.
Pride of place goes to Mr Jones who passed a fairly significant milestone during his innings of 37 against Malahide on 24th August. With what was probably a lofted whack across the line, Jones moved on to 7, and with it passed 6000 career runs. Jones is the 7th player to pass the mark for Leinster, after Gerry Duffy (10264), Brian Buttimer (9390), Joe Byrne (6797), Frank Connell (6419), Gerry Delany (6255) and Jack Short (6059). Before the end of the season, Jones moved past Short to be 6th in the all time list for the club. The other point passed was JP O'Dwyer's achievement of getting past the 2000 runs mark. He is (I think) the 27th to pass the mark. The bowling was a bit quieter, but the irrepressible Gavin Gilmore passed yet another milestone with his 150th wicket. He is the 20th to pass the mark, and only the 10th player to pass 1000 runs and 150 wickets. And before I forget, Paul Reynolds snaffled the one catch needed to break the 100 dismissal mark (and only got one all bloody season). He is the 5th LCC keeper to pass the mark, and is now joint 4th with Brian Godfrey on 100. Leinster CC stats 1995-2007 Leinster CC stats 2007
