Renno Ratings - End of Season 2006 The current Renno ratings are finally here, and whilst there are no real changes at the top, they do highlight the rude health of the 1st team at the end of the season. In the batting, the top three of Abrahams, Jones and Scholtz remains the same, but Will Lennon moves up to 4th. He previously reached 4th in July 2004, but the club is now much stronger, and his current rating of 820 is easily is highest. Craig Mallon slipped to 5th despite his maiden league 50 in the last game of the season - he had performed strongly earlier in the season, and has no lost these innings from his rating. The two big movers are Alan Godfrey and Graham Whelan. Godfrey scored a magnificent 150* for the 3rds against North County. His last 10 innings have seen him score 428 runs at 47.56. All bodes well for next season. Whelan also finished the season strongly with a 53* in the final 3rds match against Bagnalstown. Whilst not quite as spectacular, his last 10 knocks have seen 208 runs at 23.11. His current rating of 597.16 is his best achieved. The bowling is still topped by Sarfraz Anwar, but there is more to this than meets the eye. As I've said before, Sarfraz has quietly gone about his task, but has now become the 2nd best bowler since Stu Barlow rampaged in his short stay in 2004. It hasn't just been the wickets that Sarfraz has taken that have been impressive, but the Scrooge-like tendencies as well. Over the last ten matches he has only gone for 2.93 an over, whilst taking 20 wickets. A worthy end of season leader. Supporting him were Mssrs Vermaak, Lennon and Hollenbach who all increased their ratings. Unfortunately they hardly all played together -Hollenbach's appearances were limited. It's the first time that four bowlers have had a rating of over 800 at the same time, the bowling attack is the strongest it has been since 2003
